Anderson University

Dining Services Assessment

Anderson University (Anderson, SC) has used the same dining services contractor for over 40 years. SSG was retained in 2012 to conduct an extensive student needs assessment, an operational efficiency assessment, and complete financial and contract review.  In addition Anderson elected to allow a competitive contractor to propose on the campus dining services program.  As a result of the asssessment and competing contractor proposal review, Anderson elected to have SSG manage a contract negotiation with their current contractor. SSG completed the project on time and under budget.

Dining Service Procurement

Anderson University retained SSG to assist with developing a new contract for the AU dining services prior to the 2020 Thanksgiving holiday's.  Due to the tight timetable, SSG managed a process where the long term incumbent and two other companies were invited to participate.  The objective was to choose a contractor partner and enter into an interim contract in less than 60 days.  Then the longer term contract will be negotiated with the chosen contractor early Spring, 2021.  The project is proceeding on schedule.

Augusta State University

Dining Services Assessment

Augusta State University (Augusta, GA) retained Support Service Group, LLC to assess their dining services operations. Through interviews with students and administrators, a complete operations review and needs assessment was conducted in early 2005. The comprehensive assessment identified the financial and qualitative expectations of various delivery models for the operation of the campus dining services.

Barton College

Dining Services Assessment and RFP Process

Barton College (Wilson, NC) retained Support Service Group, LLC to conduct a dining services review, develop a request for proposal, and manage the entire RFP process. Barton has retained the same contractor for over 50 years, making their contract one of the longest running contracts in the country. The process was completed on schedule in the Spring, 2019.

Baylor University

Dining Services Assessment

Baylor University (Waco, TX) retained Support Service Group, LLC to assess the Baylor Dining Services.  A comprehensive assessment was completed in May 2007.  As a result of the assessment, Baylor's long term (50+ years) dining contract was renegotiated successfully in the Fall 2007.

 

Custodial Assessment

Baylor University (Waco, TX) retained Support Services Group, LLC in 2009 to assess the long term custodial contract.  As a result of the assessment, Baylor elected to retain SSG to renegotiate its long term custodial contract.  The custodial contract was successfully renegotiated in 2010 on time and on budget.

 

Multiple Sevices RFP Process

Baylor University (Waco, TX) retained Support Service Group, LLC in 2012 to manage a multiple service RFP (Request For Proposal) process.  The services involved in the process included:

 

  • Dining Services
  • Facilities Management
  • Energy Management
  • Campus Custodial
  • Campus Grounds
  • Athletic Custodial
  • Athletic Grounds/Field Turf Maintenance

 

In conjuction with technical experts retained by Support Service Group, LLC a comprehensive RFP document was developed for all services.  The RFP process resulted in an award of a master contract covering all services (some sub-contracted) to one contractor in December 2013.  SSG managed the entire process and successfully completed the project on time and on budget.

Berea College  

Facilities Management RFP

Berea College (Berea, KY) retained Support Service Group,LLC to assess the campus facilities management operations and develop a RFP. The departments include were: plant operations & maintenance, custodial, and grounds. A RFPwas developed and sent to four qualified management companies. A contract was successfully negotiated with the selected contractor.

Dining Services Assessment

Berea has used the same dining services contractor for over 30 years. SSG conducted an extensive student needs assessment, an operational efficiency assessment, and complete financial and contract review. A program improvement plan was developed to improve student satisfaction, coupled with an operational improvement plan.

The comprehensive assessment was completed on schedule and on budget.  SSG completed the contract negotiations for Berea successfully and on schedule.

Annual Retainer

As a result of the successful Dining Services Assessment, Berea retained Support Service Group, LLC for an additional year to monitor the recommended program enhancements implementation.  All programs were successfully implemented which resulted in substantial improvements in student satisfaction.

California Lutheran University

Dining Services Assessment

California Lutheran University (Thousand Oaks, CA) has used the same dining services contractor for over 15 years. SSG was retained in 2014 to conduct an extensive student needs assessment, an operational efficiency assessment, and complete financial and contract review.  The project included the renegotiation of the dining services contract and was completed Summer 2013.

California State University Dominguez Hills

            

Dining Services Assessment

CSU Dominguez Hills retained Support Service Group, LLC to assess the campus dining services program in May 2015.  The assessment was designed to determine how well dining services is meeting campus needs, as well as the financial reasonableness of the current program.  Recommendations on adding residental dining to the current program, with high level capital requirements and annual return pro formas were included in the assessment.  The project was completed on time and on budget.

Campbell University

Dining Services Assessment

Campbell University (Buies Creek, NC)  Campbell University self-operated its dining services until 2005, when it entered into a contract with a major national contractor.  In preparation for the expiration of its ten-year agreement, the University retained Support Service Group, LLC to assess the dining programs, contractual arrangements, and financial results.  The project was started Spring 2014 and successfully completed, on time and on budget, early Fall 2014.

Dining Services Assessment

Centre College (Danville, KY) retained Support Service Group, LLC to conduct a contractual and financial assessment of their ten-year Dining Services contract that is up for renewal this summer.  The project was completed this spring, on time and on budget.

Denison University

Dining Services Assessment

Denison University (Granville, OH) retained Support Service Group, LLC to assess their long term contractor’s ability to improve student satisfaction, within existing budgetary parameters. SSG conducted an extensive student needs assessment, as well as an operational efficiency assessment of the contractor’s current performance. A program improvement plan was developed to improve student satisfaction, coupled with an operational improvement plan to fund the needed improvements. A new five year contract was negotiated with the existing contractor that accomplished both goals in early spring, 2005.

Annual Retainer

As a result of the successful dining services assessment project, Denison University elected to enter into an annual retainer program with Support Service Group, LLC to monitor the plan implementation for the first contract year. Quarterly progress reviews were conducted through the 2005/2006 academic year.
