Dining Services Assessment

Xavier University (Cincinnati, OH) retained Support Service Group, LLC to assess their dining services program and make recommendations regarding a dining services RFP to be issued in January 2008. The assessment was completed on time and on budget.

Vermont State Colleges

Vermont State Colleges (Waterbury, VT) retained Support Service Group, LLC in 2011 to manage a dining services RFP process. VSC has used the same contractor for 20 years to serve it's four residential campuses across the state. Castleton State, Johnson State, Lyndon State, and Vermont Tech are all currently served under a system-wide master contract. The project includes dining needs assessments at all four individual campuses and an evaluation of self-operation for one campus. The RFP will developed in the Fall of 2011 and the new contract awarded to begin service on July 1, 2012

Old Dominion University

Old Dominion University (Norfolk, VA) has used the same dining services contractor for over 15 years. During that time ODU has grown from a urban commuting institution to a major residential research university. The annual dining services revenue has grown from $4,000,000 to $20,000,000. In 2011, Support Service Group, LLC was retained to conduct a comprehensive dining services and facilities capacity assessment.

Dining Services Assessment

Winston Salem State University (Winston-Salem, NC) has used the same dining services contractor for over 10 years. In 2011, Support Service Group, LLC was retained to conduct a comprehensive dining services assessment. SSG conducted an extensive student needs assessment, an operational efficiency assessment, and complete financial and contract reviews. The first phase of the project was completed ahead of schedule and on budget. The remainder of the project, which includes either the management of a RFP process or a contract extension negotiation with the existing contractor will be completed by May 1, 2011.

RFP Development and Process Management

Emory University (Atlanta and Oxford, GA) retained Support Service Group, LLC to develop a dining services master plan and request for proposal for both the Atlanta and Oxford campuses. The RFP was issued to selected companies. SSG managed the entire RFP process, from developing the campus master plan and needs assessment through final contract negotiations with the selected company

Young Harris College

Dining Services RFP Management

Young Harris College (Young Harris, GA) had used the same dining services contractor for over 40 years. With changes in Administration, the College elected to review their long term contract and seek competitive bids. Support Service Group, LLC was retained to develop a Dining Services RFP and manage the contractor selection process. The RFP process was completed on time and on budget and new contractor was chosen to provide service in July 2010.

Dining Services Assessment

Wofford College (Spartanburg, SC) retained Support Service Group, LLC to evaluate the planned retail space in the new housing village and make recommendations for additional retail dining venues. Additionally, SSG assessed the Wofford long-term contractor’s ability to improve student satisfaction, within existing budgetary parameters. SSG conducted a dining services needs assessment. A program improvement plan was developed to improve student satisfaction, coupled with the recommended contract renegotiation strategy.

Dining Services Assessment

Wilmington College (Wilmington, OH) retained Support Service Group, LLC to assess their long-term contractor’s ability to improve student satisfaction, within existing budgetary parameters. SSG conducted a dining services needs assessment. A program improvement plan was developed to improve student satisfaction, coupled with a major contractor commitment of capital to provide resident dining and retail facility improvements. A new five-year contract was negotiated with the existing contractor.

University of South Carolina Beaufort

Resident Dining Facility

The University of South Carolina Beaufort retained Support Service Group, LLC to evaluate the feasibility of establishing a resident dining program at the new South Campus. As a result of the feasibility study, USCB retained SSG to manage the establishment of a resident dining facility and prepare a RFP for the dining services management. SSG managed the RFP process including vendor selection and final contract negotiations. The new resident dining program with meal plans was established, and a new student center with resident dining facility constructed on budget and on schedule.
